Adrian Rodriguez and Corey Gibbs receive congratulations from State Senator Cam Ward for their awards at the Alabama Association for Gifted. Corey was named Outstanding Student of the Year and Adrian placed first in the documentary competition.

Central High School NJROTC returned from Pensacola, Florida with 6 trophies. The unit competed against 13 other schools in the annual Gator Games competition. The event was held at Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. Central's JROTC athletic team have been practicing for weeks for the competition and were not disappointed. The team won 1st place in the pull ups competition and won 2nd place in the 10x100 relay. They also placed 3rd in the 6x220 relay, Wheelbarrow relay and the dizzy izzy competition. Overall they won 3rd place in this year's Gator Games. The team was led by their Athletic Officers, Mychael Broome, Clayton Jones and Rachel Jackson.
